The time has come to reap the fruits of this year’s Prime Zone Cup (page in French). This internal challenge, organized since 2012, each year brings to the public new applications designed and created by employees and partners of the Orange Group.
Today we present six apps that can help you with everyday life tasks and save your time and nerves. All of them have been recently introduced and are available for free through Orange Labs Prime Zone.
Tout Savoir en 1 clic
Don’t waste any more of your time; find!
“Tout savoir en 1 clic” (“Know everything in a click”) is a mobile app that enriches your vision of the world with the information about what surrounds you. Launch the app in just one click and see reviews of the restaurant in front of you. Fancy a party evening? Simply start the app to find the best bar nearby. This application doesn’t just provide information, it improves the quality of your life!
Leave the house with peace of mind. Find your folks easily. Ma’p tribu – a must have family app!
Follow the route while hiking, off-piste skiing, sailing; follow your relatives’ steps in order to inform the emergency services about the location of person in need using this one application. There are many tools on the market that offer this type of geolocation, but one thing distinguishes Ma’p tribu: no data is kept on your device, all of it is archived in Orange Cloud.
Apart from recording the exact position with great timing precision, Ma’p tribu offers real-time visualization of the itinerary as well as possibility to share the location information avec those given access.
QuickTextSpeak speaks for you in any language !
QuickTextSpeak is an app mostly dedicated to mute people. It uses Android voice synthesis to pronounce texts in several languages. Furthermore, it may be really useful for everyone who likes travelling.
The texts can be classified in different categories in order to facilitate the ;search in situations of use. Sentences can be prepared in advance or written on the fly.
Helps visually impaired people avoid indoors obstacles.
Mes Yeux (“My Eyes”) application aims to help partially-sighted people move along the hallways. Although it cannot replace the usual accessories, like a white cane, this app informs the user about the presence of obstacles on their way. All you need to do is hold the smartphone in your hand so that the camera faces the direction you’re moving in. It is always possible to use the app hands-free by hanging the phone around the neck (screen resting on your chest).
While a visually impaired person is moving, computer-generated voice informs them about the location and the colour of detected objects on their way. Once the user stops, the detection is disabled.
Your shopping partner.
While in a store, find clients’ reviews on a product (mobile, fixed phone, accessory or connected object) in no time, check product’s availability in Orange stores nearby and discover current offers. ESL Reader doesn’t only work in Orange stores. In its latest version, the app can detect – basing on the barcode scan – fixed phones, accesories, IoT objects and certain mobile phones (Apple, Sony, Huawei) sold in any shop around France. For the rest of mobile brands, ESL Reader will work only in Orange stores, due to the fact that smartphone barcodes differ between operators.
Platform: Android, iOS
Smart Nap Alarm
SmartNapAlarm assures to wake you up only when you really want it.
Smart Nap Alarm is a tool to set the alarm on Android phone with the better user experience, to avoid being woken up by alarm in the morning on a holiday.
Currently, the Alarm on Android phone can be set on weekdays, but in real world, the holidays happen in the weekdays too. Thus, an alarm may disturb the user’s sleep in a holiday morning. Smart Alarm allows to set and modify the alarms based on holiday schedule.
The key purpose of this app is to ensure that the users rest for the desired time and that they are awakened when it’s needed. The users can also set the length of time they want to sleep on the alarm clock. When the phone detects that the user is asleep, the alarm clock start timing. After reaching the length of time set by the user, the alarm starts waking up the user.
