1. The “Open Source in business: new arguments” conference

   Orange will testify about his involvement and usage of OpenStack during this conference hold by the CRIP on October 22, 2014, in Paris. See on-line for Information and registration.

2. Orange founding member of new “Open Platform for NFV Project”

   The Linux Foundation announced on September 30, 2014 the founding of this new Project. It will be a carrier-grade, integrated, open source reference platform intended to accelerate the introduction of new products and services in the Network Functions Virtualization domain. Orange is a Silver-level founding member of the project.

3. Our selections: IRMA at HITBSecConf2014 in Malaysia

   IRMA (Incident Response Malware Analysis) is an open-source asynchronous and customisable system aiming at helping analyze suspicious files. It will be presented at HITBSecConf2014 on October 15th in Malaysia. Orange is one of the founders of the IRMA project and actively contributes to the development.

4. Contribution at Cassandra Summit 2014

   Jean Armel Luce (Senior Software Engineer at Orange) will be one of the speakers at Cassandra Summit 2014 in San Fransisco on September 10 – 12, 2014.

5. Orange launches Solerni, its MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) platform

   Orange launches Solerni,  a complete solution for creating and hosting MOOC. This evolutionary  solution was developed in partnership with members of the Open Source  international consortium Claroline Connect of which Orange belongs, (read more – in French…).

6. ATK now integrates ARO

   ATK release 2.2.0 now includes AT&T’s Application Resource Optimizer (ARO).This ongoing integration effort will help ATK users to identify more easily up to 25 mobile best practices that can improve the app’s battery consumption, data usage and overall responsiveness. AT&T ARO is an open source app from AT&T.

7. Orange and Open Source at OW2con’13

   Thierry Souche (Senior Vice President, Orange Labs Products & Services), has said during his opening keynote for the OW2con’13 conference: “We  don’t invest in Open Source for charity, but for efficiency and  quality. No TELCO will survive without embracing Open Source.” Watch his keynote online.

8. The Cassandra experience at Orange

   Within the Cassandra Summit Europe 2013 in London on Oct. 16-18, Jean Armel Luce, expert in Orange France,  presented the Cassandra usage experience in Orange as well as mod_dup (published under the Apache license), whish eases the application migration to the NoSQL technology.

9. Our selections: Enalean Tuleap awarded, at the BOSSIE

   Tuleap has been awarded “best open source application development tools”, at the BOSSIE (Best of Open Source Software) awards 2013, by the InfoWorld magazine. Orange uses Tuleap, and contributes to its development.

10. Our selections: OW2 brings Open Technologies at Cloud Interoperability Week

    The Cloud Interoperability Week will provide an insight into the current state of Cloud Standards implementations and use cases. It will evaluate the level of interoperability of different solutions and showcase how Cloud Standards work together. OW2 co-organizes this event and will provide workshops and tutorials sessions in Madrid, on September 18-20, 2013.
