Orange has initiated an OpenDaylight project with ATT and Telia for control of WDM/OTN transport networks

Orange has initiated transportPCE, an OpenDaylight project related to the control of OTN/WDM transport networks, relatively static by nature. AT&T, Telia and Comcast have joined the initiative since they share the same needs of programmability and openness of transport networks. Some system vendors have also joined the initiative in order to share their own vision on the way of controlling these networks.

By developing PCE application for OTN/WDM networks on OpenDaylight basis, service providers are willing to get a network controller being open, programmable and independent from node implementation thanks to common topological and device Yang models. This project is a first step towards dynamic and optimized control of multilayer networks.
