PrplOS is an Open Source operating system designed for Customer Premises Equipement (CPE) such as Home Gateways. It is under the responsibility of the prpl Foundation, of which Orange is one of the main contributors. The Prpl experts within Orange have contributed source code to facilitate the development of applications and services on prplOS:
- samples: a collection of basic samples (developed in C, C++, Rust and Python) to help users get started with containerized applications targeting the prpl ecosystem thanks to prplLCM (Life Cycle Management)
- prplware-rpi: a prplOS profile and its dependencies for compiling prplOS for Raspberry Pi 3 (model B) and Pi 4. This enables developers to test applications on prplOS using Raspberry Pi boards which are low-cost and readily available boards, unlike the more expensive and less accessible official boards such as Freedom and OSPv1
